And so it begins: SOS raises six figures at kickoff fundraiser for AG campaign
Secretary of State Ross Miller has yet to formally announce his campaign for attorney general, but there is no mystery here: He's in. And last night at the delicious Craftsteak at the MGM Grand, Miller attracted an electic crowd for his first major fundraiser-- and an estimated six figures.
"Ralston Retorts" commentary: A pause in the outrageous campaign to silence a journalist
Here's my rant about what Gov. Kenny Guinn's son and his lawyer continue to try to do to my producer, Dana Gentry, held up now by a possible settlement in the overarching case:
Supreme Court postpones hearing in Aspen case, but key journalism issue persists
There was supposed to be a Supreme Court hearing today in my "Ralston Reports" producer Dana Gentry's case, one of the most egregious attempts to intimidate a journalist I have seen.
"Ralston Retorts" commentary: The Clark County Commission embarrassment

NRA to hold seminar for legislators on semiautomatic weapons
The National Rifle Association is hosting an "elected officials-only classroom and range tutorial" this month to educate lawmakers on the "purpose and practical use of semi-automatic firearms and the differences between semi-automatic and automatic function." Although an email from the NRA to state lawmakers asserts the session was planned before the Newton tragedy, it also says "with the upcoming session looming...this is an extremely important debate and one in which accurate information is paramount."

But daring to unveil one’s Delphic powers a year in advance: That is hubris of a different order. Or, perhaps, sheer lunacy. But why come down from my lofty Pundit’s Perch, where you underlings peep about to find yourself honored by my predictions, so late in the game? It’s that time again to bravely go where I have gone so many times before. But before I do, a pundit must eat crow or crow with delight about previous soothsaying.
