Tick Segerblom, who is not on the ballot in 2014, is having a fundraiser next week sponsored by many who want to profit from his medical pot dispensary law and who can be a "Space Cowboy" by giving $5,000. In a new paper, a law professor and his son, a Democratic activist, raise questions about the age-old tug o' war between the Legislature and the regents over who runs higher ed. The paper (attached here) by Tom and Justin McAffee raises questions about the governance of the community colleges, not explicitly laid out in the Constitution, and about conflicts between the attorney general and the Legislative Counsel Bureau, which have occurred in the past and often have to be resolved in court.
