Eight Assembly Republicans were notified Wednesday that their voices were heard on wiretaps in an ongoing probe focused on GOP consultant Tony Dane, multiple sources confirmed. None of the octet is currently targeted in the investigation, which began after Assemblyman Chris Edwards told police he believed he was the victim of an extortion plot. Dane has had his offices searched and files and equipment confiscated by authorities.
