Reid to headline first Flores fundraiser in DC next week
If you want any more evidence that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wants Lucy Flores to be lieutenant governor to stop Brian Sandoval from considering a U.S. Senate bid in two years, see below (the invite and the labor pitch): And labor is all-in, too:

Regents block county commissioner from getting prestigious award
In an unusual 7-6 vote, the regents voted today against suspending a rule barring them from honoring sitting elected officials, thus preventing Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani from getting a Distinguished Nevadan award. Giunchigliani had been nominated by Regent Jack Schofield for the most prestigious honor the regents can confer, one a slew of politicians have received after they left office.
Guinn Center outlines how it arrived at margin tax revenue estimates
Considering how nothing's riding on this-- the future of education funding, the future of Nevada's economy and the stability of the state's tax structure, to pilfer a construct from Jason Robards as Ben Bradlee -- I'm not that surprised every margin tax document gets whipped around in the political maelstrom.
Vogel leaves journalism as a Nevada icon
Ed Vogel’s face was crimson as he pointed at the computer. “I talked to that guy yesterday,” he yelled at the screen as City Editor Charlie Zobell sat nearby, somewhat stunned. “He didn’t tell me about that.”
Progressives: Heck misled on background checks

The organization recorded a town hall last month (Feb. 19) that Rep. Joe Heck gave and picked out his responses to questions (I'm not suggesting any were planted) about the issue. The video is below, but the group focused on Heck's answers on gun shows and a web portal for transactions.

Flores assembles national team for LG's race
The roster looks as if it has been gathered to play in a U.S. Senate race. Democratic Assemblywoman Lucy Flores, who announces her lieutenant governor candidacy later today, has put together a roster of talent that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid would be proud to have. And that's no coincidence since Reid believes Flores becoming lieutenant governor would prevent a second-term Gov. Brian Sandoval from leaving his job to challenge him in 2016. Sen. Cory Booker's campaign manager. A nationally known pollster. Reid's 2010 campaign manager. For an LG's race.
