Meese, Newt, Fahrenkopf, other GOP loyalists headline Laxalt's DC fundraiser
The last name helps for Adam Laxalt. Interesting group -- see below -- first reported by Laura Myers of the RJ. Some controversial historical figures, too, including Reagan AG Ed Meese, ex-UN Ambassador John Bolton and, of course, CNN's Newt Gingrich. Note the DC lobbyists, including ex-Rep. Jon Porter, ex-AGA boss Frank Fahrenkopf, Laxalt's mother, his grandfather's firm and Sen. Dean Heller as a featured guest.
Heller: Sandoval probably wants to be a judge
Gov. Brian Sandoval is more likely to seek a judicial appointment than run against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, his good friend, Dean Heller, said Thursday. Seriously.

Democratic voter registration edge in state down to 63,000
With Clark County knocking inactive voters off the rolls, the Democrats now have a 63,000-voter edge statewide over the GOP -- that's significant but 30,000 fewer than Election Day 2012 and about what the margin was on Election Day 2010.

So the Democrats have a candidate for that race, at least. Here's the flyer for Assemblywoman Lucy Flores' event two days before filing opens as she becomes Harry Reid's MOST IMPORTANT CANDIDATE:
Sandoval's robust numbers, weak Democratic bench ended governor's race
As Democrats fret about their lack of a candidate in the state’s most important race, with Steve Sisolak’s inevitable decision not to run for governor, the question is: How did this happen?

The scourge has come to Nevada and the two NRAs, neither of them guns, are aligned. A new radio ad paid for by the Nevada Resort Association and the Nevada Restauarant Association, is attached here.
State GOP nominating committee confirms commitment to political suicide
The state Republican Party, under the unswerving, steady hand of Michael McDonald, didn't endorse candidates Saturday in Fallon after saner heads prevailed over the crazies. But a nominating committee, which I have told you was a set-up to hurt incumbents and be a list for McDonald's Citizen Outreach destructive puppeteers, released its recommendations, which I have posted here. Needless to say, it's something else, including endorsement nods for those running against Assembly and Senate leaders.
